FlipFoundry (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates this website and the FlipFoundry service. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using FlipFoundry you agree to this policy.

FlipFoundry is currently in early beta. This policy will be updated as the product and our data practices evolve.

Information We Collect

Account information

When you register, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password (or OAuth token if you sign in via Google). We use this solely to authenticate you and communicate about your account.

Usage data

We automatically collect standard server logs including IP address, browser type, pages visited, search queries submitted within the product, and timestamps. This data helps us diagnose bugs and understand how features are used.

Billing information

If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your card number, CVV, or full billing details. We retain only the Stripe customer ID, subscription status, and plan tier.

Communications

If you contact us by email or through the contact form, we retain that correspondence to resolve your inquiry.

How We Use Your Information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the FlipFoundry service.
  • Authenticate your account and enforce subscription limits.
  • Send transactional emails (e.g., email alerts for saved searches, billing receipts).
  • Respond to your support inquiries.
  • Analyze aggregate usage patterns to prioritize product improvements.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.

Cookies and Analytics

FlipFoundry uses cookies and similar browser storage to maintain your session and remember preferences (such as dark mode). We may also use a privacy-respecting analytics tool to count page views and understand feature adoption in aggregate. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Doing so may prevent you from staying logged in.

Account Data

You can update your account details at any time from your profile settings. To request deletion of your account and associated personal data, email us at support@flipfoundry.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days, subject to retention obligations required by law (e.g., billing records).

Third-Party Services

FlipFoundry integrates with third-party services to operate. Each has its own privacy practices:

  • Stripe — payment processing. See stripe.com/privacy.
  • eBay — listing and sold-comp data is fetched via the eBay API using our developer credentials. No personal eBay user data is collected.
  • Google OAuth (optional sign-in) — if you choose Google login, Google shares your name and email per their OAuth scope.
  • Resend / email provider — used to deliver transactional emails. Only your email address is transmitted.
  • Neon (PostgreSQL) — our database host. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit.

Data Security

We use industry-standard measures including HTTPS, encrypted database connections, hashed passwords, and environment-variable secrets management. No system is perfectly secure; if you discover a potential vulnerability, please disclose it responsibly to support@flipfoundry.com.

Data Retention

We retain account and usage data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Aggregated, anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely. Billing records are kept for a minimum of 7 years to comply with financial regulations.

Children's Privacy

FlipFoundry is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the site at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
